Egg purses

We've been stayed in city center for a month, I actually like it. Our place closes to many Shopping Malls and I've found some fabric shops which I can drop by for my new materials.

I've started to do Christmas presents, The one I think of is my egg purse. I must do at least 10 for my relatives and friends in the UK and Thailand. I hope I will finish them on time.

I've finished 3 already, the first one I used japanese cotton, I found it wasn't easy to keep it in shape so I stitched on the background to solve the problem. Cotton may be good to do big bag or larger pieces but for small purse I like a little more rigidity.

Choose fabric that suit for you work is very important. Some small purse makers like to use japanese country cotton because this fabric type is quite thick and easy to make a shape.

The second one I over came a problem by a combination of reinforcing stitching and then used patchwork and applique.. You can see I don't need too much stitching. The layer of fabrics keep it in good shape.

Last one I went back to my favorite fabric, of course it's cotton linen. I love the contrast of nature tone and the vivid colours. By using a heavier gauge cotton linen the problems of regidity are easily over come.

Just show you why I said this is a handy purse before.

Christmas is coming...

This year our Christmas will be just us. I cant even think about decoration just yet, it's quite difficult because our house is under water. I'd like to do some Santa dolls and some dolls from Tilda.

While I'm waiting for the floods to recede, I had an order for this set all about girl and cat. you may see many types of these charactors but the colours and pattern are never the same. I actually don't like to sell them, I will consider selling them as a kit so I will have fun to do new things all the time.

If I don't know how to answer your comments I will get to sort it out (eventually)! If you in return could give any advice I will appreciate your help. It's hard enough for me to write in English but I'd like to practice and I hope one day my english will improve.

First sample is an Oval purse, I like it very much, it's a good size to put everything it it. Background is Natural cotton-linen and japanese cotton for applique. Makes me think of easter eggs. The one I have like this I use it all the time because it such a handy size.

Next an applique telephone pocket, I played with the deep red colour using sweet yellow to enrich them both.

Finally an applique keyring, What do you think of this colour palette? It's so cute, isn't it?

A Set of small precious

Good news after my house has been under water, I have taken my mind off the news by creating these precious little purses and keyrings.

I am be careful because the resupply material is going to become tight. This set has 2 key pouches and 1 small purse.

Just want to show you how small my little purse is.......

Addition pictures how I did an applique purse, after I did an applique sheet I quilt 3 sheets together.

This binding's  done by hand stitched around of the quilt – approx 0.5 cm. inwards.

Second move to Bangkok

After we've changed many plans, we decided to go back to Bangkok so I can get our dog to stay with us in our condo but my rabbit have to stay with a lady who looked after them before (my husband is an allergy to rabbit hair). The hardest for everyone is we really dont' know what the best plan for us, lots of people are moving out off Bangkok.

It's not flood in center of Bangkok yet so my husband has to work and we all stay together until the governor inform us to move. I really don't like uncertain situation but I have to live with it. While we drove back we tried to stay on motorway it turned to be an outdoor car park. Lots of people left their car on carriageways.

Finally we are all (include my dog) settle in a studio condo. I haven't start my new work yet I was very sick from yesterday because the air traffice was very busy we had to fly over around 20 minutes before landed. My dog is very happy to be here, she likes the company. Behind my dog they are piles of water we stocked, it's very difficult to buy water right now.  I definitely understand the expression "Money can't buy everything".

I was too sick to do any more work so take a picture is another way to relax.

This piece is a telephone pocket. Much easier to do, but the front and rear cover then stitched with leather clasp.

Next is an applique cosmetic bag, It's felt applique for bunny.

my family illustration

Just want to show you a set of illustration I did last year, I have a plan to do an applique collage for them. They are my great memories and transfer to fineart work.

We've lived in Chiang Mai for 3 years before we moved to Bangkok, I love Chiang Mai, it's great place for craft. My favorite place was Warorot Market, I could find everything I want for reasonable price and it's 5 minutes from where I lived. I will visit my frinds after Xmas I can't wait.
